Private clinics, faith-based hospitals, pharmaceutical distributors and health NGOs hire doctors, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory technicians and medical sales representatives, as well as public health programme officers.
As a pharmacist, you check and dispense prescriptions, advise patients on dosage, side effects and interactions, and recommend over-the-counter treatments. You manage stock, expiry dates and the cold chain within the regulations. In hospitals or industry you may also handle quality assurance and regulatory files.
