The role
As an HR officer, you handle the people side of an organisation. You post vacancies, screen CVs, organise interviews, prepare contracts and onboard new staff. You keep personnel files, track leave and attendance, support payroll and help managers handle disciplinary issues in line with labour law.
Who is hiring
Banks, telecom operators, manufacturers, hotels, NGOs, recruitment firms and growing SMEs hire HR officers. Most roles are on-site or hybrid, with some remote HR support roles in shared service centres.
Background and career path
A degree in human resources, law, psychology or business is common, and an HR certification adds weight. You can grow into HR business partner, HR manager or HR director.
