The role
As a warehouse supervisor, you run daily operations in the warehouse, from receiving goods to dispatching orders. You organise the team's shifts, check that stock is stored in the right place, oversee picking and loading, and run cycle counts so the records match the shelves. You also make sure forklifts, racking and staff follow safety rules.
Who is hiring
FMCG and pharmaceutical distributors, retailers and supermarket chains, manufacturers, e-commerce players, third-party logistics providers and humanitarian organisations hire warehouse supervisors. The job is fully on-site and often organised in shifts, sometimes including nights and weekends.
Background and career path
Many supervisors start as storekeepers or warehouse clerks and add a diploma in logistics or supply chain along the way. You can move up to warehouse manager, logistics manager or distribution centre manager.
