The role
As a call center supervisor, you lead a team of agents on the floor. You track live call volumes, waiting times and quality scores, listen to calls, coach agents and step in on difficult cases. You plan shifts and breaks with the planning team, run daily briefings and report results to the operations manager and the client.
Who is hiring
BPO and outsourcing centres, telecom operators, banks, insurers, utilities and e-commerce platforms hire call center supervisors, many for clients in Europe and North America. The role is mostly on-site on the floor, with shifts that can include evenings, weekends or nights to match clients' time zones.
Background and career path
Most are promoted from agent after strong results and signs of leadership, and a degree in business or communication helps. You can progress to operations manager, quality manager, trainer or workforce planning manager.
